[한글 스크립트] 내 집은 기도하는 집이라

주님이 타보고자 하는 나귀는 정말 그 매여 있는, 매여 있는 나귀 새끼를 보리니. 그러니까 내 그 줄로 매여진 구역에서 잘 이렇게 순종하고 있는 그 나귀를 주님께서 쓰시더라고요. 그래서 이제 우리가 이렇게 삶에 적용하면 저도 시집살이에 어쨌든 묶여 있었고, 또 시댁에 남편이 순종하고 있었더니 써 보지도 않고 써 볼 수도 없는 저를 이렇게 하나님께서 쓰시겠다 하여 여기까지 오게 된 것 같아요. 여러분 아무도 알아주지 않아도 주님은 아주 우리의 고정관념을 다 뒤엎고 이렇게 쓰시는 것 같아요. 타보지 않은 이 나귀 새끼, 그런 나귀 새끼를 타고 입성하시는 주님의 모습이 참 기가 막히지만, 우리가 세상적인 시각을 항상 내려놓고 가야 된다는 것을 배웁니다.

사람들이 나귀 새끼를 타고 이제 들어가는데 종려나무 가지를 흔들면서 "호산나 다윗의 자손 예수여" 그러면서 열광을 하는 거예요. 우리가 이제 열광하는 것에 대해서 또 마음을 뺏기지 말아야 될 것이 불과 닷새 만에 예수를 "죽이라 죽이라" 하는 걸 보면서 십자가와 영광은 한 단어라는 것을 깨닫습니다. 주님은 이렇게 긴 시간 동안 십자가 지실 준비를 하셨는데요. 제자들에게 주님이 떠나신 후에 십자가 잘 지라고, 십자가가 무엇인지 지금은 모르나 깨달을 수 있도록 계속 기회를 주셨어요. "지금은 모르나 여러분이 제가 떠난 후에도 십자가 잘 지라"고 하십니다. 십자가가 너무 힘들기 때문에 기도를 많이 해야 돼요. 그리고 십자가는 느끼라고 주시는 건데 이거 성품으로 넘긴다면 이 고난이 고난이 아니잖아요. 고난은 느끼라고 주시는 거예요. 고통이 없는데 어떻게 십자가가 깨달아지겠습니까?

내가 직접 십자가에 달려 있을 때는 사람으로부터 어떤 위로도 못 받습니다. 십자가에 달려 있을 때 하나님과의 교제, 하나님이 주시는 그 위로를 받을 수가 있어요. 그러려고 나를 십자가에 다는 거예요. 그런데 이제 세상이 악한 것을 볼 때 세상을 개혁하려고 열심 내는 것은 세상을 좋아하는 증거예요. 우리의 할 일은 개혁이 아니라 미움받아 가면서 말씀을 지켜 인내하며 살아내는 것입니다. 그러면 내 옆에 세상 사람들이 저절로 구원되더라 이 말이에요. 그래서 미움받는 것에 자유해야 합니다. 그래서 이 세상은 큐티 안 하고 살 수 있는 곳이 아니에요. 사람은 누구나 자기가 의롭기 때문에, 자기가 잘나서 반드시 자기가 잘난 사람은 의로운 예수를 죽여야 자기가 의롭기 때문에 예수를 죽입니다. 십자가 지시는 방법을 배워야 하는 것이에요. 그래야 자꾸 들으면 담대하게 십자가를 질 수가 있어요.

고난 주간 두 번째 날입니다. 성전을 청결케 하신 날인데요. 주님이 왜 성전을 이렇게 청결케 하셨냐 하면, 사람들이 이곳에 와서 성전에서 매매를 하고, 사람이 많아지다 보니 제물을 가져오기가 힘드니까 각자 사는 곳에서 가져오는 대신 여기서 제물을 사서 바치는 신앙의 편리성을 추구했기 때문입니다. "내 집은 기도하는 집인데 여기를 강도의 소굴로 만들지 말라"고 하셨습니다.

예수님께서 성을 보시고 눈물을 흘리시며 "너와 네 자녀들을 위해서 울라"고 하셨는데, 옛날 헤롯 성이 너무나 화려했잖아요. 그런데 이 성이 이제 돌 하나도 남지 않고 무너뜨려지리라 말씀을 하셨는데, 지금 이 자리에서 바라보니까 그 예루살렘 성전이 지금 황금돔으로 덮인 모스크 사원이 됐어요. 예수님이 울라고 하신 말씀이 지금도 그대로 적용되는 것 같고, 정말 예수님의 그 눈물이 지금 우리에게 임박할 그 환난을 위하여, 또 내가 구원을 받는가 받지 않는가 하는 본질을 보게 합니다. 주님이 오시면 한 사람은 버려둠을 당하고 한 사람은 데려감을 당한다고 했는데, 예수님이 돌아가셔서 슬픈 게 아니라 너와 네 자식의 구원을 위해서 울라고 하신 그 예수님의 마음을 우리가 알았으면 좋겠습니다.

[English Script] My House Shall Be a House of Prayer

The Lord chooses a donkey that is tied up—a colt that has never been ridden. He uses the one who is obedient within their assigned boundaries. Applying this to our lives, I was once tied down by the hardships of living with my in-laws. Because my husband was obedient to his family, the Lord chose to use someone like me, who had never been used before, and brought me to this point. Even if no one recognizes you, the Lord overturns our prejudices and uses us. Though it is striking to see the Lord entering on an unridden colt, we learn that we must always lay down our worldly perspectives.

As He entered on the colt, people waved palm branches and shouted with enthusiasm, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" But we must not let our hearts be stolen by such fleeting enthusiasm. Seeing how those same people cried "Crucify Him!" just five days later, we realize that the Cross and Glory are two sides of the same coin. The Lord prepared for a long time to carry the Cross. He gave His disciples constant opportunities to understand what the Cross meant, even if they didn't get it at the time. Because the Cross is so difficult, we must pray much. The Cross is given to be felt; if we try to bypass it with mere personality or temperament, it isn't true suffering. Suffering is meant to be felt. Without pain, how can the Cross be understood?

When you are personally hanging on the Cross, you receive no comfort from people. Only then can you experience true fellowship with God and the comfort He provides. That is why He places us on the Cross. When we see the evil in the world, trying to "reform" it through human zeal is often evidence that we still love the world. Our task is not reform, but to endure and live out the Word even while being hated. By doing so, the people around us are naturally saved. We must be free from the fear of being hated. This world is not a place where you can live without QT (Quiet Time). Everyone thinks they are righteous. Because people think they are so great, they must kill the righteous Jesus to maintain their own sense of righteousness. We must learn how to carry the Cross. By listening repeatedly, we gain the courage to bear it.

It is the second day of Passion Week, the day the Temple was cleansed. Why did the Lord cleanse the Temple? Because people were buying and selling there. As the crowds grew, it became difficult to bring sacrifices from far away, so they chose the convenience of buying sacrifices at the Temple. The Lord said, "My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves."

Jesus looked at the city and wept, saying, "Weep for yourselves and for your children." The Temple of Herod was once so magnificent. Yet He prophesied that not one stone would be left upon another. Looking at it now, the site of the Jerusalem Temple is covered by a mosque with a golden dome. His command to weep still applies today. Jesus' tears direct us to the coming tribulations and the essence of our salvation. He said that when He comes, one will be taken and the other left behind. We should not just be sad that Jesus died; we should understand His heart, which tells us to weep for the salvation of ourselves and our children.
